Hiking, Sledding and Snowballs

we thought for sure we were going to get tons of snow this winter and bitter cold temperatures. however, jack frost has been gentle on us so far this year. little snow and the fluctuating temps have us spending more time outside this winter season than last.
my parents live near an old over grown  farm, which creates a great wooded are for the boys to explore and play. if only we could get all kiddos to agree on how to spend that time outside. the youngest wants to hike and shovel, the middle wants to sled and the oldest wants snowball fights with his uncle. in the end they enjoyed all three activities and walked home content and happy. as for me, i am secretly wishing for another small snow storm before spring.

Nursery

keith and i have been putting off changing this nursery to a "big boy" room for months. i have defiantly not been in rush, but now it is time. we decided to skip the toddle bed, because kingston is tall and spends a lot of time in our bed. he has never really had a problem getting in and out or rolling off. we acquired a twin bed that is a hand me down from my grandmother. i think it is going to all workout nicely. but before we start changing things around too much i wanted to document this little space. change is hard for me so i will try to keep it together.

6/52

"a portrait of my child once a week, every week, in 2016"

6/52 our cub: this big brother to be is pretty excited to finally be getting a sibling. he refers to the baby in my belly as "his baby". when he first learned of this baby, a little over a week ago, he asks if he could hold the baby. so we told him mama's belly is going to get really big and the weather warm before the baby can come out. now he asks almost everyday if my belly is big. six months is a long time to wait for a three year old. he will probably be totally over the idea once our new additions arrives.
